Project Recovery is an initiative of the Canadian Hemophilia Society, the World Federation of Hemophilia, Canadian Blood Services and two manufacturers of plasma products, Biotest and Grifols. It will transform leftover cryoprecipitate (plasma paste) from Canadian blood donors into limb – and lifesaving factor VIII concentrate to treat people with hemophilia in developing countries. Through the WFH Humanitarian Aid program, it will help thousands of patients who would otherwise have little or no access to medicine, leaving them at risk of death or severe disability.
