OneMatch Stem Cell and Marrow Network

OneMatch’s Black History Month celebration got another dose of athletic support when Toronto Argonauts’ Matt Black and Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ Ryan Hinds put football field rivalry aside and teamed up for a stem cell donor registration event in Toronto.

“On the field we look out for our teammates,” says defensive back Ryan Hinds. “As a community, we need to do the same and come together to help the black Canadians who are fighting for their lives while OneMatch searches for their stem cell donor.”

Both players are already involved in giving back to the community, with Ryan spearheading GTA Youth Athletics and Guyana Help the Kids — two initiatives aimed at helping the wellbeing of youth in Canada and internationally. It comes as no surprise that both decided to work together on beating one of the biggest health issues facing the black community — providing young, healthy, and committed stem cell and blood donors for patients in need.
